Jeet is a young travel enthusiast working in the field of graphic design and advertising. He/she has moved into his/her small quaint hometown after working in Chennai for a couple of years. This small space on his/her dad’s farm is where he/she wants to create his/her own abode. He/she had been wanting to make this move since a while and this lockdown has made this decision easy for him/her. Being in the creative field he/she wants the space to be fun with a reflection of his/her heritage. He/she wants the spaces to be amalgamated yet have individual identities. He/she wants the spaces to be amalgamated yet have individual identities.
The studio aimed at creating a living space, a dining space, a cooking space, a bedroom with space for two people to sleep, a sanitary space and a workspace with a desktop. Understanding the anthropometric requirement for every activity to function in its respective space was the key factor while the spaces could intermingle without hampering their individual identity. The eight week project resulted into various explorations of the studio apartment interpreted to be suitable for Jeet, keeping the requirements in mind, while students learnt the micro level detailing that goes at every step of designing any space from its tangibles to intangibles.
